Registration of non-Russian citizens to tighten during 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup
This summer Russia will host the international football tournament 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. The Consulate General of Finland in St. Petersburg has announced temporarily changes in the rules of registration of foreign nationals arriving in the Russian cities of Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Sochi, and Kazan.
The decree applies to any foreigners who come to Russia during the period from June 1 to July 12, 2017.
Foreign nationals will only have one day from the date of arrival for migration registration. The usual registration is within seven working days of arrival. The registration of the place of stay or residence must be submitted directly to the local office of migration registration of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Registration will be mainly provided by the receiving party. Hotels and similar establishments handle the registration process on behalf of their customers. That is why we recommend you to accomodate at the hotel.
Registration in Moscow:
SoloVisa customers can submit the registration in the local office of migration registration of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, or they can submit the registration at the Scantravel office, which is our partner in Moscow.
Email the copy of your passport, visa and entry stamps to scantravel_rtd@mail.ru, or visit the Scantravel as soon as you arrive to Moscow.
The registration will be ready in one day. You must go and pick up the certificate of registration and pay the registration fee of 5000 rubles.

The registration is handled by the tenant/owner of the residence. A Russian resident or owner of a residence must visit the local office of migration registration of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs together with a foreign national within 24 hours of arrival to destination city.
