The Russian consulate has announced changes in the rights of non-commercial organizations to write invitation letters for visa applicants. (NGO = non-governmental organization). These organizations include such as associations, foundations, sports clubs, human and civil rights organizations.
A Letter of Invitation can not be written into organization's own form any more. Instead, the organization must request a formal invitation from the Directorate for Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
Please note that this change does not apply to commercial companies nor state organizations, such as education institutions, government run universities and research institutes.
